About the program

Looking to become a geoscientist ready to tackle today’s environmental challenges? The Master’s Degree in Geosciences for Sustainable Development offers an interdisciplinary and field-based program designed for students eager to work at the forefront of sustainability, natural resource management, and environmental innovation.

Fully taught in English, the Sustainable Use of Energy, Mineral, and Water Resources track equips you with essential knowledge and technical skills, including Remote Sensing for Mineral Resources, Groundwater Resources, Rock Mechanics, and Use and Sustainability of Raw Materials. You’ll also explore Petrogenetic Processes and New Energies and Energy Scenarios.

Hands-on experience is a core part of the program: from lab work to extended field activities in key geological areas across Italy. A final thesis and internship allow you to apply your knowledge to real-world sustainability issues.

This LM+ degree gives you access to paid professional training with top companies such as ENI, Arcadis, Syngen, and A&T Consulting, with internships starting in the second year and a monthly reimbursement of at least €500.

Graduates develop strong analytical, modeling, and process management skills related to geological systems, supported by advanced tools such as GIS, remote sensing, and innovative monitoring technologies. Their training covers the sustainable management of natural resources, mitigation of geological hazards, and the impact of human activities on the environment. Through applied research and project-based thesis work, students are prepared for roles in environmental protection, georesource management, risk assessment, and sustainability consulting across both public and private sectors. Join a new generation of geoscientists contributing to climate adaptation, the circular economy, and the energy transition right from the heart of Europe.
